I GOT MY BRACES /CLEAR ALIGNER (FINALLY)

5DEC2020 -I RECEIVED MY ALIGNER BY POST TODAY!

(DUE TO CMCO IN MALAYSIA, WE DECIDED TO GET IT BY POST INSTEAD OF GOING OUT.)

So , I always wanted to do braces but whenever I think of 2 years duration having metal & all the discomforts on my mouth stop me .one day I decided to survey more about Invisalign and the moment I click that, from there on ZENYUM, DR CLEAR, and many more companies advertisement pops out. trust me, I didn't know there were so many companies doing similar things all this while we heard of Invisalign but I bet you guys never hear of dr clear right? I've heard of zenyum a few years ago but it's famous In Singapore, not Malaysia. 

Anyway, I contacted both Zenyum and Dr clear aligners on 10 OCT 2o2o. 
Zenyum responded to me first but on the same day, Dr clear contacted me too. both companies have really good and fast response. I spoke to both company's customer service for about 1 hour to understand how it works & made an appointment with both zenyum and dr clear for a consultation but ended up cancel zenyum because I sign with DR Clear aligners.

they are very smart they said the promotion of free consultation and retainers are until month-end. that time already 22nd and I fall for their marketing tricks and paid RM300 for the 3D scan.
I visited twice. first for a consultation and 2nd time for 3d scan. actually, I can consult and scan on the same day but i brought a fussy boyfriend who kept pouring cold water on me telling me I should have waited after I remove all my wisdom tooth before wearing braces but due to CMCO, my surgery has been scheduled till next year, probably after i remove my braces I also haven't remove my wisdom tooth  HAHA. 

So the first visit to DR Clear I've paid RM300 for deposit to lock down the promotion price . The deposit is deductible from the full-package, so it is not entirely "free consultation unless YOU SIGN /CONFIRM With them.

 Why I decided to do braces? 

Since young friends and family made fun of my teeth. I'm not confident. many people ask why I didn't open live sell things, one of  the reason why I didn't previously is because i hate my teeth and my looks on camera. i have overbite issue .

finally after many years, i decided to fix my teeth . i just dont love my teeth and want it to be straightened

many people ask , why do I have to do braces, let me show you what I'm not satisfied with. 

1)the upper teeth all not align,already senget 

2) my both upper and bottom middle line not align

3)sau nga/ overbite

What are Aligners? Aligners vs Traditional Braces?

ok i know many people are confused with this 2, let me explain or you can goggle it .
here's the type of braces available in market

 I've consulted a few dentists for braces & aligners.  the traditional /metal braces is about RM6000, duration 2 years, I have to remove 2 upper teeth .ulcers and other pain discomforts .not to mention the obvious ugly looking traditional metal braces that are soooo obvious 

Invisalign is too expensive and out of budget (triple of my current price) furthermore, my case is MILD ..actually I can no need do braces.

What are my initial Concerns? why do i choose Aligners instead ?
Price - same or even cheaper, i don't mind paying extra to have a fasten the speed to be honest.
Discomfort - lesser compared to Traditional braces,wont have ulcers and etc
Duration-faster 8 months vs 2 years
Wisdom tooth-i can remove before,during or after , does not affect
Outlook-no  ugly metal looking but clear aligners , people wont even notice i have braces on
Eating - i can remove and eat comfortably, my " free time"

Price ?

Aligner itself TOTALRM5500 exclude X-RAY , IPR,remove wisdom tooth , teeth scaling(these  are optional and case by case basis)

INCLUDE 1 free RETAINER (promotion not sure if they still offer)

For me I paid extra rm250 for Ipr and rm150 xray .total rm400

Teeth scaling price range Rm100-120 depending how long you didnt clean your teeth. 

Pluck wisdom tooth Rm100-120 each tooth(private normal dentist. If you go specialist rm250) consultation itself rm50 for specialist 

Surgery wisdom tooth can be rm200/500-1200 per tooth .depending you go to normal dentist or specialist OR HALF GOVERNMENT  OR FULL GOVERNMENT . 

I'm not sure about full government price because I went to UM (HALF GOVERNMENT) AND private dentist to remove my wisdom tooth

So my total cost will be 

aligner rm5500

ipr rm250

xray rm150 

total Rm5900 exclude plucking my wisdom tooth and teeth scaling .if wanna include it will be Rm6500-7000 like this. Because I haven't to remove my fourth wisdom tooth by surgical. 

Teeth scaling rm100

I pluck 2 of my wisdom teeth Rm100+120=220 

I have 2 need to remove by Surgery (UM RM200) (per tooth. If government not sure. If specialist rm500-1200 

*for my case normal dentist not accepting  they refer me to specialist. So I don't have option to go normal  dentist. I can only choose to go UM or government which need to queue or go specialist pay much more higher but due to my wisdom tooth not fully grown I can still drag. I was told by dentist if remove now require alot trimming so best to remove AFfter my braces/aligners treatment 

*I spend and wasted alot because I went to few places consult. Paid for consultation fee  and Rm100 for the green traditional mold for traditional braces  but ended up not doing that. So yeah I wasted my time and money doing survey however its case by case basis. Some people teeth not suitable to do aligners . (Dr clear and zenyum only accepting mild to medium case) 

I have 4 wisdom tooth and removed 3 so far.  I have 1 more to remove after my aligner remove.  

Dr clear giving 3 /6 months installment plan.(zenyum has 6 months installment too )

Time frame?
At first the said 8-9months and 2nd assessment they said 7months plus I can complete 
YES ITS THAT FAST . I've seen other cases on youtube,very serious case also takes about 1 year only . do your own survey BTW .

normal traditional braces takes 2-3 years averagely . clear aligners takes 8-12months depend on your teeth , most of the company only accept mild-medium cases they don't take serious case.

What is IPR ?WHY do you need it ? 
Interproximal Reduction (IPR)

im scheduled to do IPR ON 12 DEC  2020 with white smile orthodontist 

for better result, I decided to do IPR. it is not compulsory and subject to the person teeth condition also your preference .

How it looks like ?

Barely can see the braces/aligner unless I open my teeth big big

 how does it feel ? comfortable ?

I would rate pain 1/10. Really doesn't feel pain but I do feel pressure anyhow it is moving my teeth.i do feel slightly  discomfort for first few days 
But over all the experience is great  .I can remove my aligners when I eat and drink 

I do not need to go dentist every month to tighten up my braces.  I only need to go once more for my 2nd  3d scanning on jan/Feb and that's it.
